Anonymous usage counts

To learn whether the calculator gets used and where it goes wrong, the calculator page counts a few events anonymously. This is on by default and you can turn it off below. Each count is one small request that carries fixed words only:

• the site (cartpado.net), the tool (dimweight), the release date of the page and a screen-size group (mobile, tablet or desktop);
• the event: the page opened with counting on; the first time you start (by editing, pasting, importing a project, opening a share link or changing a setting); the first valid result; a check that failed, by kind (quantity, dimension, weight, rule, paste or project file); an export, by kind (full or partial CSV, project file, full or partial print, share link copied); a setting changed, by kind (entry unit, billing unit, carrier or custom rule); the paste dialog opened or a paste applied; and the first time a valid result has a carton billed on volume, so a right-size hint is shown;
• four labels taken from your settings: the entry unit (kg or lb), the billing unit (kg or lb), the rule (custom, UPS, FedEx, USPS or DHL) and the number of carton lines as a band (1, 2–3, 4–10 or 11–40).

Each kind of event is sent at most once per page view, and no more than 12 in all.

Never collected: carton names, dimensions, weights, quantities, divisors or any other number or text you type; the shipment name; files you import or export; pasted text; share links; the page address with its query or # part; the page you came from; cookies; your IP address; any user, device or other stable ID; device fingerprints; the browser’s user-agent string; your exact screen size.

There is no user ID, so counts cannot be linked to each other or to a person. They are sent to Carton Weight Lab’s own server at ops.nivloro.net, which keeps only a total per day for each kind of event. Like any web request, a count passes through Cloudflare and that server along with your IP address, but the address is not recorded and is never stored with the counts.

Turning it off: use this switch or the one at the foot of the calculator. It stores a single on/off value in this browser’s local storage (toolwoven_usage_off), which is never uploaded, and counting stops at once. Browsers that send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track never send counts.
